About the Event
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted nearly every aspect of human life. As we transition into the post-pandemic era, chemistry, as a fundamental branch of natural science, plays a crucial role not only in overcoming the challenges of the pandemic but also in advancing human well-being. Its contributions include the development of vaccines, the discovery of new bioactive compounds, the creation of advanced materials for various applications including diagnostics, and improvements in other chemistry-related aspects of daily life. Ongoing advancements in chemistry continue to drive progress, ensuring the enhancement and sustainability of human health and prosperity.
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, has been organizing the International Seminar on Chemistry (ISC), a triennial conference, since 2008. In 2025, we are excited to organize the 6th edition of this event under the theme: “Chemistry Advances in the New Era: From Fundamental Discoveries to Practical Applications.” This theme underscores the pivotal role of chemistry in transforming groundbreaking research into tangible solutions for real-world challenges, particularly in this new era of scientific innovation.
We are proud to gather prominent speakers from renowned local and international institutions to deliver plenary talks and participate in parallel sessions. The seminar offers a dynamic platform for academicians, researchers, students, and industry professionals to showcase innovative discoveries, share technological advancements, and discuss pressing challenges. By fostering meaningful discussions and collaborations, the ISC aims to drive the future of chemistry and amplify its societal impact.
The conference will address a wide range of topics, focusing not only on innovations in synthetic organometallic chemistry to enhance reactivity and selectivity but also on gaining insights into the fundamental properties of biomolecules relevant to industrial and biomedical applications. Ultimately, the seminar aspires to advance hazard-free, waste-free, energy-efficient chemical processes that produce non-toxic products without compromising functionality, contributing to a more sustainable and prosperous future for humanity.
